You Think You’ve Been BURIED,
But Actually You’ve Been PLANTED.

About Me
I was born the 11th child to Walter Demus and the late Oglatha McLaughlin. Like many, I’ve experienced my share of struggles—wasting time, putting others and things before my own needs, aspirations, and desires. I’ve battled procrastination, started and stopped things, endured ruined relationships, failed friendships, depression, church hurt, world hurt, family hurt, sickness, and suffering. Yet, despite it all, I’ve reached a place in my life where I’ve found real happiness, real peace, and stability in God.
I’ve vowed to protect this peace, understanding now how important it is, especially since I learned how to truly LOVE myself.
I’ve been writing for over 20 years, and in recent months, God has been tugging on my heart to return to it. He has something to say, and He’s calling me to share it. Through my writing, I want you to get to know me, hear my heart, and listen to what God is speaking in this season. I’ve gathered a wealth of knowledge, experience, and personal testimonials that have equipped me for this assignment. What makes this journey unique is my vow to tell the truth—no matter how raw or vulnerable it may be. Some days, my transparent moments will come from a place of emotion, but other times they will flow from freedom, obedience, peace, and most importantly, wholeness.
I am 44 years old, married, and though I have not birthed any children of my own, I have mothered—and continue to mother—many, with that being said I have 5 amazing Godchildren. I am a 4-year educator with 8 years in the field of education. Currently, I hold two degrees and am working toward my second master’s in Elementary Education. Teaching is not just a job or a gift for me; it’s a divine assignment. I love what I do, the relationships it fosters, and the lives that are touched and transformed through it.
I’m also the proud owner and CEO of Virtuous Fashions. As you can tell, I don’t just write—I also have a passion for all things fashion. As the youth like to call me, I’m a “Fashionista.” It’s not just about looking good, but about making others feel good. The smile, the boost in confidence, the lift in self-esteem when someone sees themselves in a new light—it fills my heart. I absolutely love seeing other women smile, and I’m always the first to compliment someone.
Join me on this journey. It’s a new season for me. On December 28, 2024, my husband and I were baptized together, and it was an experience we will never forget. In that moment, I finally understood the why behind it all, and my heart is overwhelmed with excitement for walking in the fullness of God.
I stand firm on Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” I believe with all my heart that we will live to see God perform His promises in our lives.
